There are so many things going on in our world today. Our social media feeds are bombarded with news reports, and everyone’s opinions about them. People are sick. People are dying whether from a rampant virus or violent displays in the streets. And this is all on top of the regular bad news that fills our world. The children’s hospitals are still full. The cancer centers are still running over. People are still killing each other over money or jealousy or in a fit of rage. Listening to the news is like a verbal wresting match. Reading it and then the comments attached is even worse. As Christians we must have a response to all these things. It’s got to be deeper than our political opinions or conspiracy theories. It’s got to be more than brushing it off and saying “everything happens for a reason”. So what then should we say to these things? I’ll tell you what we should say.
If God be for us, who can be against us?
Simple huh? The answer is the same as it’s been from the beginning. The answer is Jesus. We’ve got to tell people about the God we serve. We’ve got to tell them that His name is Jesus, and if we serve Him, there is absolutely nothing or no one that can come against us in this life that won’t have to answer to Him.
We have to let them know that this Jesus we serve has been, and will be with us through it all. We have to tell them about His goodness and mercy. About His faithfulness and forgiveness of sin. Of His death burial and resurrection. That He died and rose and sent back His spirit so that we could live this life with Him and then spend eternity in paradise with Him. We’ve got to tell of the amazing things He has done, is doing and will continue to do for His children.
We have to tell them that this Jesus we serve is victorious over anything that comes against His children.
Any news report.
Anything that comes against us.
So don’t worry when things are coming against you. Just respond with Jesus. He’s so much bigger than it all. ❤️
