Daily Share- Nobody but Jesus
“Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can fully share its joy.”
Proverbs 14:10 NLT
There are so many things that make up who we are. There are wonderful traits we’ve inherited, or perhaps bad habits. There are set backs in our lives or advantages we may have had. There are broken places caused by abandonments, or abuse in some way. There are broken, bitter hearts that are the result of someone we cared for hurting us. There are wonderful memories, and painful ones. There are stories of poverty and stories of abundance. Life happens wether good or bad, and that shapes who we are.
I’ve learned to recognize certain manifestations in my life that I don’t understand, and then to evaluate and find the connection to the event in my life that caused it. Once recognized, I know I have to deal with it, and I hate the start of the process. It’s reliving things, bringing up bad feelings and blame and hurt. It’s really opening up a wound that’s never fully healed. It’s rehashing all the bad words and bad experiences. And then it’s forgiveness. It’s a decision to forgive, and to allow God to help you work through, grow and heal from that thing.
This verse is so true. Each heart knows it’s own bitterness. The Devil would have us think that we are the only ones to suffer things in our lives, that because we have suffered we are somehow less than, or an outcast. He would have us believe that because we’ve suffered we are unlovable or unreachable or that no one could possibly understand. But one thing we have to know is.. the Devil IS a liar and the father of it. All those things are lies.
The other thing we have to know is that Jesus came to give us life, and to give it more abundantly. He came so He could understand the bitterness our hearts suffer on this earth. I mean really how much does He love us to leave His throne and come down in a fleshly body and suffer things so that He might be able to understand us? He loves us more than we can comprehend.
We suffer because we are human, but take heart, because Jesus is there to ease our suffering. We have to remember, it’s so important to be real and share our suffering to let others know that although we are made up of all kids of different things, that we may have suffered some of the same things. I know in my own journey the most comforting thing through times of suffering is hearing how Jesus helped someone else through what I’m facing.
And no one else can fully share its joy. How true is this! How many times in my life have I finally gotten something that so many others obtained so easily and been misunderstood in my rejoicing over it. People will try and minimize the blessings in your life that seem so simple to them, but you went through a dry and deserted place to get them! But no worry, rejoice on! Always glory in the Lord and what He’s done for you, understanding the truth that no one can fully understand where you are coming from in your rejoicing until they understand where you’ve been. Even then they most likely won’t understand unless they’ve been there too. But do we need them to? Absolutely not! Nobody but Jesus knows how my vessel was formed, and that’s okay with me. I’ll rejoice in Him regardless. ❤️
